The tax laws with respect to capital gains and losses have been the same for years. You are limited to a $3000 aggregate loss per tax year. That is after you net all your gains and losses. Any remaining loss must be carried forward to subsequent years, $3000 at a pop.

Too bad it ain't $3000 a day, a week or a month (circle one)...or better yet, a scratch off....
