Robert - I do support a woman's right to chose - that's her business and she has to deal with all of the ramifications. I think the nuts that try to block access to a clinic are just that - nuts with nothing better to do.

That does not imply that I believe the federal government should be in the business of paying for women to have abortions. To me, that is simply providing the means to allow people to escape their responsibilities.

Mr. K.

<<It is refreshing to read a conservative's posts who, being so concerned about women, must also be pro-choice and pro-family planning.>>

I consider myself to be a conservative, and I am very definitely pro-choice and pro-family.

<<I imagine that you are also outraged by men who try to block women's access to family planning clinics! >>

I used to volunteer as an "escort" at a women's clinic to help to protect the patients' rights. I was one of those people that worked to get the protests moved a safe distance away from the clinic. However, most of the protestors were female. You would be amazed at the vehemence of women in the religious community.

I realize you were being fascetious in your post, but there really are compassionate conservatives, to use a term coined by one of the conservative radio talk show hosts.
