<<the discussion about "anti family planning" factions being behind this attempt to get rid of President Clinton, is important>>

I have no problem with that as a topic at all. It is far more inclusive of what many see as the real distinction (on that issue) in the first place. I assume you are referring to what we so lovingly call the RR on this thread.

<<There are certain very financially powerful groups that want to get Clinton out of office before he can appoint any more Pro Choice Supreme Court Judges, or Federal Judges.>>

I don't see that as much of an issue, since the Republican Legislature already has the ability (and has been exercising it) to refuse to allow any appointments with which they disagree.

Just for the record, assuming Clinton had done something truly serious, such as used the IRS or the FBI to intimidate his opponents (as he is accused of), or had committed a serious crime such as rape, would you favor his removal? In other words, is your complaint that this particular issue isn't serious enough to warrant removal from office, or that impeachment should never be used.

<<You are probably right. But, the discussion about "anti family planning" factions being behind this attempt to get rid of President Clinton, is important.>>

I think you're right since the abortion issue keeps popping up on this board as a major concern related to what happens to Clinton.

Some times I feel like I just arrived from another planet. It would be nice if the two issues could stand on their own.

We use terms like the "anti family planning factions" for people who have families and are supporting a family values platform. So, aren't they people who have active family planning? Then we use the term "family planning factions" for people who want to be free to do what ever they want behind closed doors including pinching the little heads off of new arrivals that might contribute to or define the start of a family. The same people want us to believe they are outraged because we don't have agencies policing the students who might be carrying concealed peanuts in schools and have less than adequate protection for dogs in the streets.

Oh well, I guess this is the "New Speak" we should all be sophisticated enough to live with. I was just getting over my difficulty with the term "The peace keeper" as Reagan used to refer to the MX Missile.
