So far 7550/935 is holding: the bottom could be here. Knock on wood. Nothing like losing almost 80% of your value, though; those are Depression-era numbers. Merrill downgraded five-year growth rates for the sector big-time, so I'm sure that's hurting us. Maybe the IRIDF announcement is helping.

CNBC reported that Ralph Acompora's downside target is now 6735; that's what stepped up the selling. Unfortunately, the market seems to listen to him too much -- we got buyers the last time at 7400 -- the exact point of his first prediction. The first media-inspired bear market. So far, though, support is holding.

I was thinking I should have doubled my position at 5 or 6, but I frankly didn't expect a high-volume break-out this soon, with a couple more weeks of tax loss selling to go. I'll be damned.
