I have heard some say they are "done". When asked what does that mean? They said, we have finished "analysis"! That still leaves, remediation (fixing), unit testing, regression testing, system test and production testing. Of course this measn the fox is guarding the hen house when it comes to reporting progess... I know of no bank that is through production testing at this time, many have a "plan" to get it done but few have the methodology or resources available to execute. By any indpendent survey of our country's Y2K readiness, the banks, insurance comapnies and brokerages are in the lead, which as you can see from my experience above should scare the sh*t out of you.
