Doomspan has been waiting for this moment for years.
I can see him now jumping up in glee (in private of course).

He'll probably say, let's wait a while and see how
much pain the market can take, and then we'll move
in when the battlefield is semi-demolished and try to
rebuild things his way.

It's his way of taking out any bit of speculation in
the market. This way he can control monetary policy
without worrying about the market for a while.

He can lower rates freely, and not have to worry about
inflation from a high-valued market.

Watch, by 1st-2nd quarter '99, Fed Fund will be
at 4 to 4 1/2%...but he won't have to worry about
an overbought market.

We're learning the age old lesson...don't fight
the Fed.
