<<We are failing our kids in our schools by not having decent schooling on family planning, sex and relationships. >>

The kids are definitely being schooled on these issues. The quality of that education is, of course, open to debate.

That being said, I think we are failing the kids by not providing decent examples of relationships, and family planning, not to mention a lack of discussion surrounding sexual issues. The emphasis should be on providing that information at home - we shouldn't delegate that responsibility to the schools. It will probably always be necessary to provide information at school as a backup for those situations where parents are unwilling or unable to handle it themselves, but the responsibility is still the parents'.

<<Speaking about family issues, more and more people are not getting married at all. We need to turn this country around and set some standards. But, not standards set by religiously indoctrinated people. We need standards set by, and beneficial to the majority.>>

Common Bob, who could disagree? But its sort of like Gandi and Reagan giving the same speech about world peace. World peace rhetoric is on the lips of every leader. Everybody walks away happy, until the separate agendas are defined and documented "doctrines." Reagan would do it with MX Missiles and StarWars technology as a world police force, while Gandi wants us to all engage in passive resistance to such authority. Totally opposing agendas, but at least they are clear. What is yours?

What specific religious doctrine, do you object to. What standards do you think work better. You seem to be down on marriage. What is your alternative? Convince me its good for children and other creatures. Its easy to say you don't like religious nuts. Who does? Even the ones you would call nuts, don't like some of the others. You are not saying you agree with any agenda that is not based on religious doctrine. Why would you go to the same extreme regarding people who have standards based on religion? Is your only point here anti-religion. Its a lot easier to kick over a stack of blocks than to put them up and maintain the structure. When you say we should have standards, at least indicate a foundation that this structure is supposed to rise from. If you are going to "turn us around" where will we be headed?
