SanDisk needs to get out of the business of manufacturing flash memory. The value of SNDK is the IP portfolio, which produces a nice free cash flow. In fact if they shut down the entire company and just collected royalty checks, earnings would improve and so would the stock! Think RMBS.

Mats,

I think people have erroneously lumped semiconductor manufacturers together regardless of the production strategy.

SanDisk is FAB-less. A strategy used by smaller companies to reduce production costs by avoiding ownership in expensive foundries.
