Richard, I am sorry I am not qualified to answer that one..I don't know myself. Maybe, someone else will shed some light on this for both of us. My ignorant guess is that it's relative to the markets around us???

A falling dollar will push gold higher. Gold is heavily shorted. At some point a massive short sqeeze could play out. This would lend volitility to US equity markets as the world begins to view us as a not-so-safe harbor with diminishing value as compared to other investment options. Stocks and bonds falling together here will lead to a very scary month of October. --Al
