No second shoe - I was trying to understand where you were coming from. I have talked with people that just wouldn't condone impeachment under any circumstances. In the case of a serious crime (murder or whatever), they would allow the President to be tried in criminal court, after he left office. I have never been able to find out what they would do if the President really became a threat to the nation - it seems they just can't imagine a person like that being elected. I, on the other hand, am an inherently cautious type that likes to have contingency plans in place. Even if I can't imagine it, if it's possible, I want a means for dealing with it in place.
