PVN also recovered well off its low, it hit the 42's and closed at 50, what's up wit dem lenders? Yahoo news stories say recovery led by financials:

"However, U.S. stocks made a dramatic rebound, bouncing back from over a 200 point decline, to end the session off just nine points.

The move was largely attributed to a late day surge in financials and a shift by investors to defensive-type blue chips.

But the blue chip rebound belied the shaky broader market."

That shaky broader market could be good news for shorts tomorrow. I thought I was going to end the day way ahead, but ended up only slightly ahead. Jumped into MSTR at 21. Can anyone tell me why MSTR shows a fair number of higher after hours trades? Was there really any interest or are these late conforming trades?

Now, things will become more difficult with financials ...

ABS players send SOS to Fed during conference

By Tim Ryan

HAMILTON PARISH, Bermuda, Oct 8 (Reuters ) - Now that global financial turmoil has helped push the Federal Reserve to a slight easing of interest rates, some players in asset-backeds have a further request: Save our credit market.
...
In the meantime, said Kirk, the ''bond market'' will remain something of a misnomer. ''To the degree we maintain this flat curve, spreads are going to stay as wide as they are -- until we see some type of fed ease. (Otherwise) you're not being paid to own bonds, and they're not bonds anymore, they're commodities.'' He added that, with the market swarming with rumors these days fueled by bankruptcies and hedge fund problems, ''they're commodities that are going to trade on fear.''

Insurances are weak, though, EFS off, MTG one up. Take a closer look on these.
