Michelle,

I can't really blame the Dems in close races for voting with their future electoral prospects in mind. They are just lowering their ethical bar to the dismal nadir of our careerist, opportunist president.

OK, so, if the DEMS vote in lockstep, they're voting their conscience, if the REPS do, then they are partisan, and those low life cross-over guys, well, they are just looking out for their own skin.....right!!!! Imagine that!

BTW, it would seem counterintuitive for them to be considering only their re-election, remember those Pro-Clinton polls<g>......bp

<<With regards to the Dems, they are the lowest still because (I believe) they are voting not with their conscience, not with their party, but with their future reelection in mind.>>

Are you saying that the only reason for a Democrat voting for hearings would be to appease voters? There couldn't possibly be any that really think hearings are the right way to go? Voting for hearings is not the same as voting for articles of impeachment. I think a goodly portion of the Democrats voting for hearings truly believe it's the right thing to do.
