you are dependant on his leadership to keep your political climate in tact

I absolutely agree. Unfortunate, yes. See my post: exchange2000.com

Why should I put up with it from him. Because he is the leader of the most powerful nation in the world?

Hell, no. Because his fat, lying, obstructing ass is the only thing standing between me and the extreme-rightwing loonies. You won't ever hear me defending Clinton's character or his stature.

My question is what do you think you owe this guy that you would let him sell out the honor of the office of presidency and go along with it?

I'm sorry. I look at all the Third World coups the executive branch has sponsored, all the bombings it has launched, all the massacres it has condoned, all the butchers it has cavorted with and can't see so much honor in the office of the president. Just a powerful office whose primary duty is to maintain the orderly procession of global capital flows.

It would be different if some one was holding a gun to your head.

In a way folks are holding guns to my head: Pat Robertson, Pat Buchanan, etc. I covered Buchanan in New Hampshire in 1996. I talked to his supporters. He scares the hell out of me. If he and his ilk ever got any significant power in this country, I would be terrified.
