Well, if I knew, I would be happier. My point is that recent market actions, in particular all those counter-trend afternoon rallies, don't seem consistent with the general market climate and the general money flow pattern. So clearly someone is betting on a rising market. These could be either bullish hedge funds or market manipulators. But the best strategy is very different in the two cases. If it is the first, it is probably better to join them, if it is the second you should do the opposite, since market intervention almost always can only delay the inevitable but not prevent it, and when it occurs it tends to be worse than without the intervention (based on what tends to happen in currency markets where intervention is frequent and easily identifiable).

Any ideas?
