Luke: The height of your predictive powers were reached when Dell hit 80 and change this morning......when you had an opportunity to make something out of your put leaps...

Prediction:
Rally tommorrow. (general)
Rally next week for the techs...

on the back of tech conference and good tech earnings...

Now, you have been warned!

John (this prediction thing ain't my bag..but if you can do it...)

P.S. Picked up Cisco for a song at 42.25 this morning....

Luke: Of course (in my last post) the 80 and change SHOULD HAVE BEEN 40 and change (still having trouble adjusting after the split..)

BTW- Japan should rally too tomorrow...good for you, no?

Lucretius: Wake Up!!

This was a post you made this morning on the DELL bear thread:

<<this is not 1987... this will be around for a while, but there will be a tradeable rally after the crash. It should end in Dec or Jan before we see new lows. DELL will see single digits.. rest assured.>>

You are way off base in predicting that DELL (the healthiest tech company) is going to lose the majority of its market value and hit the single digits. I have talked to friends on Wall Street and they are talking about how we have hit the bottom and a rally should kick in soon. DELL is oversold and you know that. I bought more DELL at $45 for my IRA account this afternoon. IMO, in 6 months DELL could easily be twice this price. DELL's fundamentals have not changed. Their superior business model is constantly being improved and their competitors are suffering big time (check out the latest issue of Forbes for a good review of the situation). DELL will lead the nasdaq higher. You may want to go LONG or prepare to be wrong.

eom.

I agree with you on the bounce but not on the downside target.

I have access to a very expensive charting system which indicates stong support at forty and a long term trend which as of tonight is still intact. As for the Monday meltdown thesis I think that the Chinese Water Torture decline is still with us; a massive drop would be seen as a classic capitulation...or a buying opportunity par excellence. The slow decline punctuated by extreme volatility that we have seen has done more harm than 1987 this too will pass as I see the international situation coming off the bottom. If you don't believe me just take a look at what has been happening lately with the emerging markets currencies. The lousy US dollar and long treasury weakness is helping the hedge fund people and the Japanese..the Germans may even cut their bank rate.

<<The new target for DELL by the end of Oct is.... 16 to 20. Have fun! >>

I would have to assume by that statement you are short.............
If DELL goes to 20 the NASDAQ goes below 900

Anything is possible........FIRE....FIRE.............lol

I hope you are right LT. My stop loss kicked in at 47 ont he way up so it would be nice to be able to sell again at 50+. Somehow I don't think so. I feel 50 will now be resistance just as 42 proved to be support for the moment.
