As I'm sure you've guessed by now, I'm don't exactly trust Clinton's motives. However, I would be willing to accept legislation that accomplished my goals (which the Clinton proposals do not) even if they came from someone I don't really like.

Clinton's real motives? Probably just as you said - higher taxes and an increased presence of the government in the health care process.
