P.S. I don't like the tobacco companies, either. The stinkers hooked me.

You know, this is interesting to me.... can I ask you when you started smoking and if you had any sense at all at that time that smoking could be hazardous to your health.

After seeing what my parents had to go through to quit smoking I am convinced nicotine must be the most addictive substance there is.

<< People smoke cigarettes ONLY for the nicotine in them. >>

Even if this is true, I still say "take the nicotine out of them". They did a similar thing to Coke Cola, who's original name was probably Cocaine Cola.

I smoked mostly Camels since I was a kid. I had Asthma, and developed other illnesses as I got older. I finally HAD to quit smoking because every puff burned all the way down.

Even so, it took me eight years before I finally got to a point where I didn't miss smoking. I missed it when I drank beer. I missed it after eating. I missed it when I was nervous. I missed it on the way to work. For eight years I yearned for a smoke. That nicotine shit gets into you and stays for a long time.

At any rate, it's quite a nice product for the tobacco companies to hook our kids on.

Good luck trying to quit.

This response is also to Robert Barry.Folks I smoked marijuana every day for well over twenty years. Not something I am glad I did by the way.But the point is I quit some years ago and after about a few weeks of a little trouble getting to sleep I never looked back. I haven't the slightest desire to go back even when I see others doing it.Moral of story cigarettes are pretty damn addictive all right or marijuana is highly over rated.
