Both Lucent and Cisco turned positive today. If this marks an upturn in the telecom equipment sector, then we should see some near term improvement in NT, because certainly sector factors contributed to our recent decline. The fact that volume was heavy on the month of sell off between August and September, and culminated with extra heavy volume (12 mm) on a gap down day (i.e., the last trading day of September) I read as good signs that most of the damage is behind us.
