I thought that the interviewer was very lame - poor questions and nervous remarks after his questions were answered. I also thought he blew the explanation of how sli works. The AGN3d website is pretty good, he should stick to that and Pseudo should hire someone who has a much better audio presence to be their host of the hardware show.

1) You are the man for doing these transcripts! Thanks!

No DMI connector on boards - Banshee has full VMI port on chip, board makers can choose to supply connector. Banshee can do full frame-rate DVD decode on P2-300+ (even in worst possible case).

2)If I understood TonyT correctly, he was saying that when you use the DVD decoder that is in the hardware on Banshee, you can do "software decoding" of the DVD signal, at up to 9.8Mbps (or some huge number that equals the max possible MP2 standard datarate). I guess what I don't understand (calling all propeller heads) is does this mean that ...

IF the board maker uses the TV-out stream from the banshee chip, then using software decoding of DVD (with a p2-300 or better proc.) will give you maximum image quality?

Does this eliminate the need/desire for a separate dvd controller card?

ObEx-MidwesternerQuestion : What compelling reason is there for a board maker to add cost to access the banshee tv-out stream, and what compelling reason would I have as a consumer to pay more for one with the TV out (probably enough just to be able to play q2 with 500 lines of resolution (yippee)).

thanks a ton, y'all make investing in tdfx easier!
