The mistke that I think Diamond made was cutting down all purchasing of new inventory. They have moved out and disposed of their legacy product, but they were so focussed on inventory reduction that they cost themselves sales. Diamond TNT is basically the same as all the other TNT (same goes for Banshee). If I go to a store and there's no Diamond choice, then I buy Creative.

I thought that their comment about not engaging in price wars was also pretty weak. When you sell the same thing as your competition, price will become the determining factor. Diamond made a bad choice in buying gads of very expensive RAM for the voodoo2 and I think that their high prices cost them sales.

Thanks to everyone that posted the great Diamond info today. Battlefield promotions all around! I just got back from hiking near Mt. Rainier (saw some spectacular fog ;-). The stock is obviously artificially depressed right now from all of the Diamond speculation. Can you say "Buying Opportunity?" If it hits 8, I'm backing the truck up... again!

Didn't notice any reference to Oct. 12 in the Tony T. interview recap. Can anyone clarify?

I seriously doubt the rumors of "Avenger" and "SST".
