Tom Maybe you have a dirty phone line ie not capable of connecting at 56k. and/or you may want to check your port settings etc on your laptop. I found this site for checking line quality. It may be some use. 3com.com Regards Bill

Tom, <What's odd is that even when my new V90 modem reports a slower connect speed, it's still noticeably faster than the other K56flex modem> Not sure if this helps but winmodems connect with poorer performance at the same speed than non-winmodems. Has something to do with the USR software. Alan

Tom, Thanks for the response. I was curious about your trading style because I wanted to know if you needed the speed ect.. that realtick provides and if you felt you were getting it from MB Trading. Sounds like you do and that the service is working for you. Another thing any profitable trader is good when you consider the attrition rate in this business. So keep up the good work. I haven't noticed the ISLD Best count as an idicator one way or the other. It seems to me that the traders on the ISLD cannot swing a stock like the MMs so I don't pay that much attention to them. CWR.

For your problem on running two different softwares, the best thing to do is to buy another computer and network them. If you can afford the cost you can buy a dual modem 112K and use two phone lines. What nice about that is one will drop out if someone calls you. My wife wants be to get two lines buy I tell her II do not want to be bother answering the phone while I am trading. Bruce Hope this helps.
