Tim, You are incorrect about the level of disclosure required here by md versus what it would have to disclose in an ipo. The proxy will contain all of the same information, without the "sales" bs ipo prospecti add for glamor.

The big difference, assuming an ipo could be done (which I agree is iffy, but this merger was planned before the market tanked) is md pays almost nothing compared to giving a present to several underwriters, printers, hotels, airlines, restaurants, the us post office, etc. And it is purely logical to put the two halves, as it were, together to explore the technology for other uses, rather than duplicating efforts, overhead, etc.

Everyone here needs to sit back and watch, as results will either confirm the wisdom or undermine it, but for now we must look for ways to gauge the performance of md and datametrics, as that is what the new company will be about.
