TXN is core. Bought some on Tuesday @ $49. Don't know if you saw it, but BEL is now rolling out Westell DSL modems here in Pittsburgh (I'm getting one!), each with fairly expensive TXN parts inside. Target is 7 million homes passed by end of next year. Also glad to see TXN held 12 million shares of MU.

Charlie, with DSL, the service is rolled out on an individual basis, so are you saying there'll be 7 million homes capable of being reached? The following link will take you to ADI's website and their just-published journal featuring DSL. Click on the first for a series of industry projections. If I'm reading it right, the bottom chart indicates a little over 1 million lines by 2000.

Charlie I thought they had 29,500,000 they received in the sale and an option to buy 12,000,000 at a price close to $25 per share. Did Ti sell some shares after the sale ?
