Hello Tom,

You're kicking some real butt in Luke's contest with your short of AMZN www3.techstocks.com. Nicely done.

Regarding your question about the status of CSCO's Bullish Support Line (BSL)-- at 43 it was a touch (some call it a straddle). In order for it to "Break" the trend line it needed to a) fall at least one box below the trend line and b) be on a sell signal as well. It did both those items at 42 and you can see a new Bearish Resistance Line has formed at the top.

However, often times a BSL will be penetrated but if there is no sell signal the BSL is not broken but simply moves downward.

If you're real bored I did this Message 5102360 on trend lines and Bruce added comments later.

Bruce and I have had a number of PM discussions relative to trend line construction and interpretation. We've just been discussing revised BSL's. Perhaps in the near future he'll post some info on that subject.

Take care,

Eric
