<< This may sound a little crazy, but we all try to make heads and tails of our environment and human nature tends to create (or rationalizes) cause and effect relationships, whether they are appropriate or not.>>>>

Relatiing Dell's stock price or movement to recent world events is,to me, crazy making.
Wall street bulls have turned into bears(after the market dropped), earnings of related tech stocks cannot be used to predict the stock price following the announcements.
There do appear to be several consistent aspects of the market
1. In a down market the techs get hit twice as hard as the Dow(remember 1987)
2. The market always returns to move up despite wars, gas shortages, failure of most of the
US Savings and loans, Presidential change, Chrysler bankrupcy, budget shortages.
3. Bears will always concentrate on the negative and exaggerate to the downside. If any country has financial difficulties that will be translated into a prediction that US banks will fail.
They haven't missed many countries yet, just name one South American country that has been noted by the press to be doing well and is not on the verge of collapse???? Equador?
Columbia?? To be fair, they have not messed with Europe too much(yet)
4. An assumption is being made that a slowing of the US will drag all sectors down, resulting in decreased PC sales, etc. That is one tired old story, if one reads the 1996 posts on Dell SI. . It has also caused the recent tankings in the Csco, Lu, NT , arena because companies MAY( or may not) reduce IT spending, IF such and such happens.
I have news for those bears, the Web , e-commerce, internet sales will continue to grow, we are not going back to manual computers or pad and pencil, and the competition between cable,
internet, and wireless will require more spending, not less ...
5. I have read statements here that Dell is no different than other companies, is not immune to happenings elsewhere.
THATS A CROCK !!! There IS something very different about a company that grows at 5 times the industry rate. Kemble will tell us what those differences are.....
Dell will return..
.
<<<< But I havent sold out yet and am hoping for a rapid recovery.>>>>
May it be a short convalescence.......(gg)
My last Sale of Dell ( at least I hope it was the last) was 100 shs for $9600 while recovering
from last October, today would be 400 shares at $19,200.
This week I bought 100 at $54 and 30 at $43.
-- Nothing personal here, just got wordy this morning--
Good luck
