It depends on who has the technology that LU is lacking in, and they are so far behind CSCO in digital/packet switching it'll take them 3-4 years to catch up. (This coming from somebody that knows the area much much better than i do - because i don't). Speaking of CSCO, the main problem they have is if you buy their stuff, you have to buy ALL of their stuff, because the software is proprietary, so you have NO CHOICE but to be at their mercy for future upgrades and hardware add-ons. A lot of CIO's have been thru that with IBM, and now MSFT with the 'If you have Novell then we (msft NT support) will not support you, period'. But i hear that is changing. We have both NT and Novell at my shop, and some BAY and CS and PROTEON hardware....
