You are right about computers and their components as commodities. Two months ago I bought an off brand PII400 system with all the good to best components and paid 20% less than DELL was selling them for, and less than 33% less then MUEI's or Gateway's. Margin is razor thin. The big push now is the total outfitting of companies with the desktops, notebooks, and servers, providing support for the many softwares used, and with total replacements or upgrades every 3 to 4 years.
