3COM knows this is the 3COM year. ATT HUGE contract will be announced soon (many groups already work on the project). CoreBuilder 9000 is the platform for ISP/Enterprise switching platform and it will eat Cisco's cake when GigEthernet and L3 switch become available in a couple months (granted, I think development execution could be much better in Corebuilder 9000).

Matt and/or Joe,
Doesn't that kind of a repurchasing program raise the bottom TA types come up with or do the TA'ers already figure that in? Thanks in advance, Bill

Positively. Were coms going to the teens, those who upgraded it recently would look like an idiot. If history is any guide, in a 6-month period the price would be up ~50% from the point they heavily upgrade (~30), so we should expect 40-45 by next Feb.- Mar. Further, in a ride up, usually the price may fall flat from time to time along the way. The theory goes like this: if you are an aggressive buyer and you wasn't able to keep the price hanging around your target number, you then buy 2M shares over a week, then sell 1M in a day, then buy another 2M over another week, then sell 1M in a day..... Of course you need to have faith in your target price to begin with. It may well be coms' bankers doing the job now that caused this basing pattern. Other scenario is also possible, such as coms is indeed going down the pipe-the uninformed is picking up at 25, the informed is unloading at 30. Once the distribution is over, it is over.
