WC,

Since the cycle seems to repeat itself annually, I think that I will escape next July (how about July 17) and watch this next October from the sidelines! Had I done that this year, I could have increased my position a lot!

Regards,

Ken

<<I think the next big 'event' will be mid next year
when the market reacts to the perception of a huge global melt down on Jan 2nd 2000.>>

Yikes, if things continue, by this time next year we will all be cooking on camp stoves and living scratching rocks to start a fire!! You can't absorb 30 - 40% declines, deflations, and total economic collapse of 40% of the world economy for 12 months straight.
There is no quick fix on the horizon, NO ONE is in charge, and no one with any credibilty to take charge.

I am not saying the sky is falling, but I think I can touch the Sun
with my little pinky.

Couldn't have said it better. By the way I was just asking is the party over...I really don't believe it is. I have been an invester in stocks now for 9 years...almost all in a Bull Market. I am now trying to get used to a Bear Market of sorts. I am just trying to figure out is this a major correction or a real bear market. Bear markets have lasted a long time in reading about them. All economical things in this country are sound...but I really worry about the rest of the world now, which in time could drag down the US as well.
