Hi Keith. When I applied for my Greenline account I was told straight out that Canadians cannot hold U.S broker accounts for tax reasons. I guess my brokers didn't feel like telling the true that day.

I find that very questionable, as well as irritating!! If I take 10K to Florida in the winter, Canada has no concern what I do with it! If I buy property I am supposed to report it, If I make money with it I am supposed to report it!! Therefore Revenue Canada has no concern if you own a US brokerage Acct. So is the US brokerage saying you can't have an acct., or Canada?
