Yes, this does feel eerie. Indexes have not been allowed to reflect the following bad news items, yet :

(we've closed about even from before these items)

-AG's Wed AM speech
-LTCM found to be in equities (& others??)
-Dollar plunging
-JP Morgan uses the "R" word
-Abby-Jo lowers her S&P growth for next year
-AMG reports another $2B in net equity outflows for this week

You gotta have faith in some serious manipulation to go long, IMHO.
