Actually, that was serious. A credit crunch hits small companies a lot harder than big ones; I think that's the real reason for the Russell's massive underperformance. Merrill will still be around when this is over; a lot of small companies won't be. I don't know why PT Discount closed, but they were backed by Bear Stearns; who backs Datek? When Bear Stearns gets squeezed, who are they going to squeeze first? I don't know the reason for PT Barnum's closure; I'm just a little spooked by it, as I had a helluva lot of money in there earlier this year. Paul
