Dave, I dumped Datek because they are unreliable from 9:30 to 10. Also, they seem to have become much stricter on which stocks they will allow you to sell short. I did document my frustration on the Datek thread. It was at the end of September.

Hope someone can help me with some questions I have about selling naked options in a Waterhouse account

Is the collateral 20% of the stock price or strike price (whichever is lower for puts and higher for calls) plus the premium ?

Are naked options marked-to-market daily ?

Does cash collateral continue to earn MMF interest ?

If a put option is exercised on an optionable stock, can I use margin to purchase the stock ?

TIA,
John
