Mary - Re: " he is a trained metallurgist - there is not much heuristics in that either. "

Do you put that in the same category as "a trained monkey"?

Mary, you make a lot of sense, as usual, but:

>>>Craig Barrett is probably much
more sophisticated in this regard - but then again - he is a trained metallurgist -
there is not much heuristics in that either.<<<

There you go again, typecasting us "techies". Just kidding.

>>>Kurlak will ride on Ralph's bear
market call to greater glory <<<

Oh yeah, I forgot about Ralph's latest prediction. Ralph calls the market something like the way I ski. Well, I made it this far down, guess I should try to get down some more.

>>>Most of Barrett's moves will be
directed toward accellerating long term growth and this is a good time for him to
do a lot of consolidation.<<<

Could be. Now some of the "chip watchers" are saying Intel is setting themselves up with a much more aggressive development roadmap than ever, and can they handle it? I hadn't thought of that. The latest, Foster, with new architecture and new instructions for 32 bit, surprised the heck out of me.

Well, I see that Ashok Kumar at Piper Jaffray just came out with a maintain an aggressive strong buy on Intel stock, with a price target of $105. He's also raising earnings estimates for 3Q and 4Q.

Kurlak and Kumar: Talking head wars!

Tony

Mary, Re: "Further, Yankees in six - Pods in seven"

Well you got one right. No, seriously, nice call on both. Now, Yankees in, what, five? Brown vs. Wells on TV Saturday night from Yankee Stadium? Order in the pizza, combo extra thick, anchovies on half!

Now we have yet another twist in the annals of Intel stock lore. After posting arguably the best "quality" earnings quarter of the year by any tech "general", we go down. Oh well, the best laid plans and all that rot.
