They're indirectly involved in financing. They offer a lease program to their corporate customers and that lease is done by Newcourt in Canada.

IMO Dell began to help provide financing only recently, about the same time as they began to lease computers.

Newcourt provides the capital financing for DELL's leasing programs to business and consumer customers. I don't think that DELL's in the financing business, per se. I think that Newcourt handles all of the financing, and DELL just fronts for them. DELL probably gets a cut, or may in fact provide some capital.

I don't know too much about it, because I've always believed that it was good business to provide a leasing option to your customers. I think that most customers think that they're leasing from DELL, when in reality they're leasing from Newcourt.
