Daniel, "Why is it a "historical dodge" to compare the current proceedings with what has gone before?" Because there is no relevance between or among the cases and the argument is simply used to deflect people's attention away from the subject at hand - the lying and covering up of Mr. Clinton.

Just because you think someone got away with something in the past, why does that translate to a pardon for someone else? It doesn't.

It is interesting as historical discussion, but it has no bearing on what Bill Clinton did, which specifically, was lie under oath and then try to cover up the fact that he lied under oath. What he lied about, you seem to imply as well from other posts, is somehow germane to his defense - more nonsense. You try committing perjury and defending yourself with the same tactic and see how far you (or any of us) would get.

Even his attorney, Mr. Bennett is now listed among those Clinton has lied to, and his integrity and responsibility as an officer of the court have required him to point that out to the judge in the Jones case.

As to what the House may dig up, I strongly suspect that they will add to the 15 counts. And I also suspect there will be a few more Republicans in the House and Senate than there are presently. Unfortunately, not enough. I think he'll still be in the WH until the next election. When the votes are about to be placed, those files are going to come in real handy, and there are probably just enough of those that can be intimidated to save his butt, in spite of Senator Byrd's admonishment to quit tampering with the jury.

Mr. K.
