MM, the problem is, if you identify possible problems, it is a self fulfilling prophecy. For example, if you say XYZ Corp of El Salvadore could have a problem paying interest on its loans before it ever defaults, XYZ suddenly finds out that all of its suppliers want cash on delivery. While XYZ has to take receivables on its sales. And that could be just the nudge to sink XYZ.

So, there are real business reasons why these guys are not forthcoming. Also, if you admit too much in the way of problems, you find it harder to float your own scam derivatives and funny money paper.

so, they usually refuse to show their cards until they want the taxpayers to pay for their bad bets.
