Croc:

Thanks much for the sentiments.

The clinic Ella's at is the only non-profit veterinary hospital west of the Mississippi and it is fabulous. Really nice, caring people and all the animals are loved.

The cause of this disease, cardio-m......something, is unknown but it is quite common in Doberman's, we're told, but rare in whippets.

We're still trying to get some response, but it is extremely rare that the heart recovers. We'd like to get her home for a few weeks, anyway, if she remains comfortable and can be weaned off of the oxygen she's receiving. Prognosis is generally 1 to 6 months, that is, if she can catch her breath again.

thanks again, we're beginning to move into the accepting stage (skipped the anger stage)
