Rudedog,

I really enjoyed your post, you seem to know how the land lays in respect ot the challenges facing MS in the near future. One thing though, from an investment point of view, do you think MS is up to the challenge? Do you see their stock being adversely affected by these challenges, or do you think they will find a way to jump the hurdle and keep performing as they have in respect to stock price?

Thanks and good investing........

Rudedog,

Excellent post. You seem to have a good idea of the challenges facing MS in the near future. From an investment point of view, do you think MS can get over the hurdles they face and keep their stock price climbing, or do you see them falling flat? I'd appreciate any feedback.......

Thanks and good investing.......

Great post rudedog. One question. You mention Compaq, IBM, HP, and DG as systems that fit the bill for server reliability. Looking at Dell servers, it seems that they've got redundancy in the areas you mention as well as support in software for failure recognition. Do you feel that these are not as reliable as the others you listed?

Also, I'm not sure if I actually answered your previous question on options. Did you mean what options analysis tools? If that is your question, I really don't use any. I have used the stocksmart option analysis program, but I found that whether the options are undervalued or overvalued didn't seem to improve my returns. I do better by trading with highly volatile stocks that have fundamentals I believe in and generally sell (either naked puts or mostly covered calls) rather than buy. I do buy in the circumstances I mentioned before. Another point I forgot to mention was that if I sell puts and they move against me, I'll often roll out the puts to the next available month and continue to collect premiums.

Finally, you're right. We're acutely aware of the problems you mention, and I strongly believe we'll be successful addressing them. Any purchase in the sub-100 range seems like a good deal to me. Definitely my own opinion and not promotion. I have no idea if the "Gang of Four" attack on the taxpayers' dime will hurt the stock or not.

Thanks,
Mike

Rudedog, Cheryl, and all: I just read an interesting article in the WSJ about a Gates memo of a Microsoft future featuring MEGASERVER. Anyone have any info or thoughts?
