Hi,
Could it be that reports such as the Boeing deal etc
are meant to cushion a possible bad earnings report?
BTW, I am simply waiting for the picture to become
clear before jumping in. Don't mind if I have to pay a
few dollars extra for that.

i2 Technologies (ITWO)

Summary

· Discussion with ITWO developers suggests their technology further ahead than appreciated and SAP's ERP integration advantages are not so clear cut.

· Investors concerned about SAP's licensing of the ILOG technology to catch ITWO focuses on the wrong issue.

· System integrators indicate that high-tech customer volume appears on verge of accelerating to ITWO with acceptance as standard.

· We do not believe ITWO's current valuation (18.5x '99 estimates, 1.5x our '99 revenue estimates, ITWO at 52-week low) reflects the franchise value ITWO has established.

i2 technology further ahead than appreciated and SAP's ERP integration ...........

Investment Conclusion

We recognize that there has been a pretty dramatic shift in valuation standards and ownership in the software space. We also recognize that many investors fear ITWO will miss the quarter. But we believe this company has the technology assets and market share momentum to withstand SAP's assault. Should the company beat the consensus revenues of $87-88M or our $92M, we would expect the stock to move up sharply. Since we don't have special insight into the quarter, we recommend investors build a partial position before the quarter and the rest after. The shares are trading at 18.4X '99 EPS estimates and 1.5X our '99 revenue estimates. We are forecasting greater than 50% top and bottom line growth. We do not believe this valuation reflects the franchise value ITWO has established.
