Well... I didnt hear the debate, but This Week in N California said that Davis backed Lundgren into a corner in the last debate and the papers are still running with the quotes regarding Letrell Sprewell (sp?) etc. So, he doesnt want to halt that momentum. All the papers Ive read said Davis won.
Do you agree?

Your implication is correct. The Dems want no more debates because their candidate has faced nothing but decline as a result of the previous debates.

Davis may be gray but he isn't stupid. Davis doesn't want any more debates because Lungren is a skilled debater and Davis is a feckless speaker. The results of the past debates has been a steady erosion in Davis support and momentum for Lungren.

Davis peaked too early just like Kathleen Brown did four years ago. Republicans always pick up support as the elections near, especially in California.
