Unzipped: i like this idea. This stock could be worth a lot of money someday. I don't know when.

Candie's, Inc. Executes Joint Venture Agreement for Candie's(R) and Bongo(R) Apparel

PURCHASE, N.Y., Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Candie's, Inc. (Nasdaq: CAND) ("Candie's") announced today that it has established a joint venture with privately held Sweet Sportswear LLC ("Sweet"), an affiliate of Azteca Production International, Inc. ("Azteca"), to market and distribute women's and girls' apparel under the Candie's(R) and Bongo(R) labels. Candie's and Sweet each have a fifty percent (50%) stake in the joint venture, named Unzipped Apparel, LLC ("Unzipped").

Under the terms of the joint venture, Candie's will license its Candie's trademark and the recently acquired Bongo trademark to Unzipped for their use in the design, manufacture and sale of apparel products. Candie's will be responsible for the selling, design, marketing and merchandising and Sweet will provide its expertise in the areas of product development, manufacturing, distribution, operations and administration.

Unzipped is currently marketing Bongo jeanswear and will be delivering merchandise to retailers for the Spring 1999 selling season. Candie's jeanswear will initially be offered for the Fall 1999 selling season in conjunction with the launch of a line of Candie's fragrances and cosmetics produced by Liz Claiborne Cosmetics.

In commenting on the transaction, Neil Cole, Chairman of Candie's and Unzipped stated, "We are excited at the opportunity of adding apparel to our growing footwear, accessory and cosmetic lines.

The Company distributes the Candie's brand to better department and specialty stores nationwide as well as to a growing number of international territories.
