Geo2 Ltd announcement to Australian Stock Exchange 22 October 1998

"We wish to announce that our ongoing collaborative project between NSW Agriculture Department and Geo2 Limited to refine a technology which remediates DDT/Arsenic contaminated soils, has achieved a second key milestone.

This has involved reducing the cost of the most expensive process additive by a factor of more than 10, to below A$150 per tonne of treated soil". ( A$150=US$94)

"Further work will involve providing a rejuvenation methodology for treated soil and recycling leach liquor.

The project's first breakthrough was achieved in May 1998, proving that the technology could be applied to a wide range of soil types representative of dip-site conditions.

Arsenic is considered by the US/EPA as one of the world's most urgent remediation imperatives. In New South Wales there are more than 1600 cattle dip sites contaminated with both arsenic and DDT.

Geo2 Limited is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. Based in Melbourne it researches, develops and sells economically and environmentally sustainable technologies in water purification and management, gold recovery and soil remediation. Geo2 Limited is currently working closely with governments and organisations in countries throughout the World, in particular Australia, the US, China and Papua New Guinea".
