If an oil column in the Islero #1 (Cambulos) is thick enough, then any buy in will be a good buy in at these levels. We'll see.

Razor,

I won't touch this with a 10-foot pole until closes above $3 for at least 2 straight days.

I know this is exactly the opposite of my earlier views. I was out of town (at a seminar) for the last 3 days, away from the ticker, and this provided an excellent opportunity to step back and re-think all this stuff.

My thinking now is that news on the Islero will be impossible to keep quiet. Positive or negative, the news will leak. And if you look at how the rumors of earlier HEC wells have come out on the internet, they actually have been pretty accurate all-in-all.

Given that $3 was such a strong base and that now has been penetrated (on pretty strong volume no less), the only thing that's gonna bring it back through the $3 mark is good rumors on the Islero.

This overall stock market environment is not the time to be cute and pick the absolute bottom of any stock. The watchword now is not buy low, sell high --- its buy high, sell higher!

Just want to clarify the record here, in that I am not out of HEC at this point. I have a pretty healthy position in it in fact --- the discussion about buying was re: increasing the position, not buying back in altogther.
