NucTrader: I don't know the answer to that one, but I have seen them both ways and they both worked as good IMO.

NucTrader, according to IBD today, the "The Big Picture" section which discusses the Nasdaq, SPX, and Dow charts, it says, "So far, this bear market is going according to form. After a sharp break, like the one we had this summer, bears usually whipsaw back and forth. Half the time they undercut their lows and half the time they don't. The Dow is the only major (non-utility) average that hasn't undercut the Sept. 1 low of this bear." end quote.
