Interesting you should mention that. A while ago I talked to a guy who was a chief engineer at a major Seattle ISP and he said that they had changed over exclusively to Cisco for their hardware and software needs because they had so many problems with other suppliers. He also said others in the area were switching over "because we need this stuff to work at all times".

I was pretty impressed about that. Being an engineer we got into technical reasons why they chose Cisco's hardware and software and that's when I realized Cisco was taking a commanding lead.

Engineers want this stuff to "handshake" well!

Dave, Is Cisco a good candidate for a stock in an IRA with the notion of holding the stock for the next 20-30 years? What other stocks do you like for the long term investor?
