To all: My wife calls me names, my children snicker and ridicule me to my face, my neighbors shake their heads in bewilderment and disgust when I mention grno. It has been a painful experience. Through it all, I manage to keep my composure and a half full cup. Just for once, I want to be able to hold my head up with pride when I tell them all that grno is now a successful company despite the nearly unsurmountable barriers it has hurdled with grace and poise. Several years (may be much more than that) from now when oil reserves are again in danger of depletion and the price of everything including the world's fuel supplies has reach all new highs, grno will be in such demand to produce processors for countries around the world, this small group of investors will be so rewarded for their patience and tenacity that it will create a significant positive shift in our direction in the balance of power.
And then, I awoke.

Ron, with regard to China playing "catch-up" technologically, I read an article last week about the Chinese government announcing more subsidies to promote high tech development, including more support for joint ventures with foreign high tech firms. The article referred to special development zones in a number of areas set aside for such ventures and other similar undertakings. I gathered that there are special benefits (not detailed) for foreign companies participating in these zones. Quing-dao (I've seen it spelled four different ways in different documents) was one of the places referred to as having such a zone. This province is a center for coal and steel processing and shipping, and they want to diversify away from their heavy reliance on basic industries. Heavy industry and transportation, including railroads, trucks, and shipping, likely means a lot of waste oil in this area.
