Uncle Frank <<Personally, I'd rather see pfe post .69 than .57; the stock has taken a hammering lately and I'd like to see some of those shorts get squeezed hard >>

Unk: I believe in long-term investing and discount the great short-term battle between longs and shorts as market noise.

You can expect PFE to report earnings this Wednesday around $0.57 based on strong product lines sales (particulary Lipitor), the incremental earnings due to Viagra and Trovan, and the fact PFE always reports EPS between -$0.01 and +$0.03 from the Consensus.

Unkie: I believe that the battle between longs and shorts is just market noise and has no long-term effect on PFE.

On Wednesday, you can expect PFE to report 3rd quarter earnings around $.57 (+21%) reflecting very good product line sales and incremental earnings due to Lipitor, Viagra and Trovan. Moreover, PFE always seems to comes in -$.01 to +$0.03 from the Consensus.
