They use to call it "painting the tape".
It was done a great deal turn of the century, what with the time delays back then, done for the same result. Excite some day traders into buying, then jurk the rug out.

I'm almost 100% cash, I'll be lurking here and at the Stock Attack thread, to pick your brains. {:^) "Ouch"
