Mike - Thank you for the interesting chart on "Who's Got What" There are several glaring errors in the chart. (1) Ascend is strong in VOIP - in fact they are probably the industry leader; (2) Nortel, through Bay, is strong in remote access concentrator technology - in fact they have the only product for both x2 and 56flex - but they are not selling many because Ascend has the lead; (3) Nortel, through Bay, is strong in backbone router technology - the University of California at Davis is connected to internet2 via Bay routers; (4) Nortel and Lucent are both strong in WDM; (5) Nortel and Bay are strong in VPNs and VOIP; (6) Ascend, because of its acquistion of Stratus, is now strong in SS7; (7) Ascend is strong in backbone ATM switches; (8) Nortel has strong technology in DSL because of its 1 Meg modem.

If I am wrong or incomplete, please feel free to correct me. I am not sensitive.

Ken

Mike - Just another comment on the chart you posted. There is no reference to wireless or broadband.
